Having established expertise in agricultural production and food processing, Agri Resources Group henceforward aims to get involved in the production of essential oils in Madagascar, serving the global key players of cosmetics, aromatherapy and perfume.
Established in 2015 in the Sava region of Madagascar, Agri Resources Group (a subsidiary of Monaco Resources Group) has become a key player in the production, processing and export of vanilla and local spices.
Having marked its presence in numerous value chains notably in Benin, Congo, Guinea, Ghana and Mauritius, Agri Resources Group is leveraging fully on its expertise to venture into this new arena of essential oils in Madagascar, order to serve the global market of cosmetics, aromatherapy and perfumery.
The company is currently in the process of setting up a distillery with a pressure boiler, with two independent stills of 2,500 litres each. The main distilled products would be patchouli, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, lemongrass, palmarosa, citrus leaves, pepper, all certified as being Organic Ecocert.
As highlighted by Hadrien Charvet, Director of Plantations at Agri Resources Madagascar, “ 30 hectares of fields are dedicated for the cultivation of perfume plants. These plots would be managed with respect to the criteria of organic farming. We are integrating agroecology and agroforestry practices for sustain soil fertility, with the presence of trees in the cropping system and through decent management of alternations. We are also involved in local association, promoting sustainable agricultural practices ”
The company aims to be environmentally friendly, be it at any level. Thus, the fuel which would feed the boiler would be produced out of the company’s own wood production and crop or distillation residues. 5 hectares of trees have been embedded for the sustainable production of firewood over the past four years.
From a social point of view, Agri Resources Madagascar provides training programs in agronomy for rural communities and has developed measures allowing them to benefit from sustainable incomes.
In March, Agri Resources Group raised 40 million euros from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange through the grant of a Sustainability Bond. This enables the group to persevere and intensify the development of its activities. production and local processing. This is the real landmark of this company.
